THA Market Research was formed in 1986 as a data collection service with an emphasis on field management. Since then, the company has grown in size and now operates as a full-service market research company, conducting both qualitative and quantitative research from start to finish, and specializing in nationwide project management.

Prior to opening THA, which was originally known as Ted Heiman & Associates, company founder Ted Heiman was Vice President and Field Director
at ASI Market Research for 16 years. He was responsible for managing
the company's data collection effort nationwide and was responsible for
the recruitment of audiences of 400 respondents per night to attend theater
sessions at ASI's headquarters in Los Angeles. Mr. Heiman supervised
large volumes of weekly print ad tests, concept studies, and feasibility
studies in offices in eight cities across the country. Currently, he
serves as a consultant to THA Market Research.
Dr. Sandra Grossman joined the company in 1991 on a part-time basis while
completing graduate school. She received her doctorate in organizational
research and behavior with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and service
quality research. Her previous experience includes working with Kielty
Goldsmith and Company of San Diego, in conducting a needs assessment
for the Los Angeles Police Department and developing a customer satisfaction
tracking study for a major credit card company. Dr. Grossman also has
vast experience in moderating both consumer and employee focus groups
and one-on-one interviews and focus groups with children. Sandra is the
current owner of the business having bought it from Mr. Heiman in 2005.
